Begin to explore the most common types of Irish dance tunes played at sessions, including polkas and slides, jigs, hornpipes, and reels. You will start learning a core repertoire that you can revisit and embellish as you develop on the instrument. In this fast moving class, we will introduce you to Irish musical culture and encourage you to attend an authentic pub session or two! This class is for students that have completed Fiddle 2 or have similar experience and want to focus on playing Irish music on the fiddle. It is helpful to have familiarity with reading music but not required. This class will expose the student to Irish fiddle through an intermediate repertoire.
