Please join The Arab Blues for an educational workshop examining their unique and powerful blend of Arabic and Western Musical Styles. Lebanese-Egyptian oud and guitar player Rami Gabriel and Native Egyptian percussionist Karim Nagi will take attendees in this free workshop on a musicological, historical, and cultural journey. They discuss and perform on various traditional and contemporary instruments, and give compelling examples of Arabic music, traditional Blues, and their own hybrid styles. This workshop explores cultural identity through music; the two artists who immigrated to America share how music has given them a way to merge their worlds in this testament to multiculturalism.
