The holiday season can often race us to the end of the year. With calendars full of deadlines, commitments, and events, it can be hard to make time for our art in the bustle. With this December workshop, I seek to offer a space to explore how songwriting might exist for us in the new year. Both with reflection and conjecture, we’ll first ask why songwriting matters: the world is inundated with writers - why us too? Then, using a worksheet as a guide, we’ll seek to set individual goals based on how we’d like songwriting to exist in our life over the next twelve months. In addition to discussion, we’ll dive into various writing exercises with the hope of offering some ideas for your daily or weekly practices.
*All levels of songwriting experience welcomed (including just an interest!)
*Please bring a notebook and a pencil for the writing exercises!
