In this fiddle workshop, Anna will teach pieces from Rättvik, Dalarna, where she has her musical roots. She will also focus on technical aspects of the fiddle, how to find a groove while playing for dancing, how to develop playing solo and dive into how you can use archive recordings as a part of your toolbox and how to make them your own.
The award winning fiddle player Anna Ekborg Hans-Ers is one of the younger generation’s most prominent folk musicians. Over the last years she has become one of the most known fiddle players on the Swedish Folk Music scene, both as a solo artist and as a member of ensembles such as Swedish Grammy nominees Northern Resonance.
In 2021, Anna released the critically acclaimed debut album SOLO which was nominated for a Swedish grammy, named solo album of the year by Lira Music Magazine and won prize for folk music of the year at the independent music awards “Manifestgalan” and Dalecarlia Music Awards. In 2023 she received the award as “Newcomer of the Year” at the Swedish Folk & World Music Awards.
