Miguel Reyes Jiménez, author of two didactic flamenco cajon books, will share his personal teachings from over 20 years of giving flamenco clapping, cajon, and flamenco groove classes. With practical flamenco clapping and cajon examples, this workshop is aimed at flamenco dancers, musicians, and percussionists who want to improve the way they feel and play flamenco rhythms. Goals from this workshop include: understanding the keys to improving your inner sense of flamenco rhythms and improving your 'soniquete' or 'flamenco groove' through polyrhythmic exercises. At the end of the masterclass, students will be asked to present their own repertoire and work on it in a practical way, focusing on rhythmic issues and sound quality.
