Songwriting is Magic: The Rhett Miller Lyrics Workshop

Join critically acclaimed songwriter Rhett Miller of Old 97’s for a hands-on songwriting workshop. He will spend some time discussing the lessons, theories, concepts, and ideas he’s learned in his three-plus decades of songwriting. He will then work together with workshop attendees to write a song from scratch as a hands-on demonstration of the process. Before wrapping up, Rhett will welcome questions and interaction with the students. Each attendee is offered the opportunity to submit ideas for the class-wide collaboration. Please provide a pair of 2-syllable rhyming words (e.g. “graveyard” and “scorecard”), as well as a word or phrase that might be a song title or song prompt (e.g. “House That Used To Be”).
