Welcome Songwriters & Poets! Sue has designed an 8-week class based on the Italo Calvino writing manual Six Memos for the Next Millennium. Calvino’s groundbreaking book for writers focused on 6 principles; Lightness, Visibility, Exactitude, Multiplicty, Quickness, & Consistency. She will guide the class through a particular principle and give homework for a song to be written each week based on each songwriter or poets unique style as it pertains to the theme. Songs or poems to be performed the next week with friendly group critique to follow… Folks that take this class are interested in pushing lyrical boundaries. Songwriters, poets, & spoken word artists are invited to spend 8 weeks in a core group, stretching their own work into new shapes!
