Brad will show you a handful of variation concepts and themes you can begin to implement right away. One of the most enchanting aspects of clawhammer banjo is the subtle and not-so-subtle ways we can reshape these tunes we all love to make them our own. This 90-minute workshop is suited for intermediate-level banjo players comfortable with playing a handful of tunes in Open G and Double C tunings. A tune or two will be taught as a vehicle for exploring a handful of variations concepts including but not limited to creative ways of using pull-offs, slides, hammer-ons, drop-thumb, bass runs, strum-ditty’s, ghost strums, bluesy-notes and harmony.
