2019 International Blues Challenge solo/duo winner Jon Shain has released an album of arrangements of Handy's tunes for solo guitar and voice. Combining more sophisticated ragtime flavors with soulful downhome blues melodies, Handy became known as the Father of the Blues. We will look at several of his early classics as well as some of his lesser known works. Guitar tablature will be provided. Ability to already do alternate thumb picking will be a big plus.
