Jerry Garcia’s revered lead guitar playing embraced a wide range of styles, including blues, folk, bluegrass, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, improvised solos, and atonal psychedelia. In this workshop, we’ll focus on a number of Jerry’s soloing strategies, including the way he often begins a solo with the melody of the song, and his use of scales such as minor pentatonic, major pentatonic, and mixolydian mode.
