Introduction to Button Accordion

An introduction to the diatonic, push-pull accordion, also known as button box, melodian, organetto, acordeón, or just plain squeeze box. Button accordions come in single- double- and triple-row models and several different keys. They are important, if not dominant, instruments in much English and Irish traditional music, Québécois, Bretón, Bavarian and Italian styles, Louisiana Cajun music and about half of zydeco, virtually all Tex-Mex conjunto, Mexican norteño, Colombian Vallenato, and some Brazilian forró. This class is for beginners and will review the basics shared by all these and other styles.
