This class is designed for students brand new to the cello or students that are returning to the instrument after a considerable time away. Students will be introduced to the parts of the instrument and begin to learn how to tune. They will gain the beginnings of good technique and sound production by learning a proper bow hold, how to listen for intonation, and basic note reading. This class is meant to be repeated to gain foundational techniques and skills required to be a good cellist and good musician. Emphasis is placed on listening to yourself and others as a way to build the concepts essential to group playing.
