Rachael Claire Botz is an award-winning singer-songwriter, with a background in folk and classical music. She has been going to folk festivals since she was in her mother's womb, and grew up performing and touring with her family folk band, Kinsfolk. Rachael and her husband, Justin, started a family folk band of their own in 2018 called Lavender Cloud, a whimsical collaborative-arts folk ensemble for kids.
Rachael holds a master's degree in Viola Performance from Roosevelt University in Chicago, a bachelor’s degree in Viola Performance from Western Michigan University and currently teaches violin/fiddle, viola, ukulele and songwriting in the Chicago area.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Ms. Rachael is beloved by her students and their families because of her ability to draw creativity out of each individual student, hone their technical skills and nurture them as a whole being.
