Lydia Martín (they/them) is a multi-instrumentalist with over 30 years of musical experience and over 15 years of teaching experience. They received a BFA in percussion from California Institute of the Arts, and a MA in Music Composition for Mills College. They have performed in over 20 musical ensembles including Silk Mother, Gamelan Sekar Jaya, and the Chicago Balinese Gamelan. Thay have also performed with many notable musicians like Pauline Oliveros, Vinny Golia, and Joe La Barbara. Lydia has specialized in several styles of music such as New Music, Jazz, Latin, and Balinese Gamelan. Lydia has taught at Old Town School of Folk Music since April 2022.
