Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar
While he’s not the famous Frank Hamilton who helped found the Old Town School, he has been involved in music for approximately 40 years. Frank plays guitar, 5 string banjo and mandolin on a regular basis. He played mandolin in a bluegrass band in the Phoenix, AZ area for 5 years, and a few bluegrass bands in the Chicago area prior to that.
Frank played electric guitar through high school, it was seeing the Telluride Bluegrass Festival on TV soon after college that peaked Frank’s interest in acoustic music, prompting the acquisition of a banjo and mandolin.
Frank graduated from the Galloup School of Luthiery and is the former repair shop manager for the Guitar Works in Evanston, but today he pays the bills working a corporate job.
