Wiggleworms, Kids’ Guitar
Carey Anne Farrell has been part of the Old Town School community since 2003, volunteering in the concert halls and the resource center, and studying guitar, bass, voice, songwriting, and dance. With a Masters in early childhood education from the Erikson Institute, twenty years as a preschool teacher, and experience teaching group music classes and private guitar lessons, Carey is excited to join the Wiggleworms team! Carey began her own musical journey as a young child, performing in local and regional vocal and instrumental ensembles, so she knows firsthand how transformative early music education can be. She strives to create inclusive, nurturing, silly, and joyful classroom communities for children and caregivers alike.
Outside the classroom, Carey performs in Chicago and beyond, both as a solo singer-songwriter and as a trombonist for Clamor and Lace Noise Brigade, a glam marching band for people of marginalized genders. She released her first album, Someone Else's Wings, in 2022, and has appeared as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist on numerous other recordings.
