Pavement's frontman sits down for a chat and performance.
Join us for an intimate solo performance with indie-rock legend Stephen Malkmus. Prior to the performance, Malkmus is joined by leading music journalist Amanda Petrusich for a conversation about his life in music as the singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of such groundbreaking bands such as Pavement and The Jicks. Don't miss out on the chance to spend a special evening with one of the most influential figures in indie rock.
Stephen Malkmus is a singer and guitarist in the groups Pavement, The Jicks, and the Hard Quartet and was a member of Silver Jews. A graduate of the University of Virginia and a tennis enthusiast, he lives in Chicago.
Amanda Petrusich is a staff writer at The New Yorker and the author of three books about music. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in nonfiction and has been nominated for a Grammy Award. Her criticism and features have appeared in the New York Times, the Oxford American, Pitchfork, GQ, Esquire, The Atlantic, and elsewhere. Her book Do Not Sell at Any Price explores the obsessive world of 78 r.p.m. record collectors. She is currently the writer-in-residence at New York University's Gallatin School.
