Luiz Ewerling is a Brazilian drummer, teacher, and composer whose deep understanding of Brazilian rhythms profoundly influences his music, communication, and outlook on life. He emphasizes that "Samba mimics the sound of the human heartbeat."

In addition to performing, Luiz has extensive experience teaching drums in both Chicago and Brazil, instructing students of all ages in the rhythms of his culture. He focuses on helping students develop independence, proper technique, and an authentic feel for Brazilian and Latin rhythms.

Luiz leads the band "Amada", which offers a diverse musical experience ranging from Brazilian pop to rock, samba to swing, and contemporary jazz. The ensemble includes Ana Everling on vocals, Luciano Antonio on guitar, Eric Woody on keyboards, Geoffrey Lowe on bass, and Luiz himself on drums.
