Christian Larumbe is a multi-genre musician with a deep-rooted passion ignited from a young age by his artistic family in Mexico. With a strong foundation in operatic performance and contemporary classical composition, Christian has produced, performed and collaborated with a diverse range of multicultural artists around the world. His musical style is a fusion of influences that incorporate elements of classical, jazz, funk, prog rock, Afro-Cuban, regional Mexican, and avant-garde.
Recorded at the legendary Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, Refugio showcases Christian's eclectic musical style. The album benefits from the creativity and artistic sensitivity of Gustavo Cortiñas on drums and Kitt Lyles on bass. Featuring prominent soloists from the vibrant Chicago music scene, such as Roy McGrath and Emily Kuhn, "Refugio" delivers a fresh and innovative take on Latin American music.
