Sunnyside Up explores the origins of bluegrass – a music that was developed by and for homesick southerners who migrated north in the early 20th century to find work. Sunnyside Up uses multimedia and live performance to demonstrate the musical elements of bluegrass: the streamlined rhythmic structure, close vocal harmonies, and the fusion of blues scales and melody. This experience of a well loved vernacular art form is offered through the Old Town School of Folk Music! Study guide available upon request.
