Born in Alaska and a descendant of the Eastern Band Cherokee Indian, Cody Blackbird is an international award winning flutist, singer/songwriter and activist for Native American people and culture. His “AlterNative Fusion” band blends Native sounds with blues and rock while delivering a message of humanity, love and unity, and the importance of keeping culture alive through music. The concert inspires finding purpose and pursuing one's life goals in a positive manner to reflect change in one's self and the broader community.
