Who: Old Town School of Folk Music and Music Direct team up for an unmissable two-day event for all music enthusiasts, collectors, and audiophiles!
What: Dive into the Old Town School of Folk Music Record Sale, presented in collaboration with our friends at Music Direct. Explore a diverse array of musical treasures, including thousands of donated LPs, rare 78s, tons of collectable and signed recordings, essential books, CDs, and DVDs, alongside premium records and equipment sourced directly from Music Direct’s warehouse.
When & Where: Saturday, May 3rd & Sunday May 4th, 2025 from 10am-5pm at Music Direct's warehouse (1811 W. Bryn Mawr)
Why: Proceeds from the Record Sale support the Old Town School Resource Center library. Over the years, the Resource Center has had the good fortune to receive a steady stream of donations of recordings and books. Many of these donated items are duplicates or are better accessed through other outlets. Thanks to our partnership with Music Direct, the donations that are not needed for the library catalog are sold at this yearly record sale, the proceeds of which are used to further develop the library collection. Areas currently being developed include: sheet music books, books about music and music history, LPs that showcase roots and vernacular traditions, and new song book collections.
