Join us in the Resource Center for a special reading of Little Melba and Her Big Trombone, a biography of jazz virtuoso Melba Doretta Liston. As a pioneering trombonist, composer, and arranger, Melba broke barriers in a time when few women played brass instruments in the jazz world.
Old Town School instructor, early childhood educator, and trombonist Carey Farel will bring Melba’s story to life through a book reading and discussion. This inspiring event celebrates Melba’s incredible contributions to jazz and her legacy in music.
All are welcome to this free event—come discover the power of music, perseverance, and jazz history!
