Class Refunds & Credits
Full refunds or full school credits are available until 24 hours before your 1st class begins. If you phone or stop by to cancel your registration 24 hours before your 2nd or 3rd class begins, a partial prorated school credit minus a $10 cancelation fee can be given. If your class has met 3 times or it is less than 24 hours before your 3rd class, no school credit is available. School credit is automatically issued to your account and can be used for upcoming class registrations, concert tickets or memberships. If you are eligible for a refund you can also have the your School credit to be refunded via a credit card refund, you must contact customer service at 773.728.6000 (press opt. 1) to arrange for a refund. Sorry, we cannot do this automatically. For student-initiated missed classes or lessons: there are no refunds or credits for classes or lessons missed once your class session has begun, for any reason. Class Cancelations
The Old Town School of Folk Music reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. If your class is canceled, you will be notified and automatically issued a School credit to the purchaser's account. If you would like your School credit to be refunded via a credit card refund, you must contact customer service at 773.728.6000 (press opt. 1) to arrange for a refund. Sorry, we cannot do this automatically. Student-initiated cancelations are subject to the class refund and credit policy listed above in the Class Refunds & Credits section. In the event of a canceled class, we would love to help you find an alternate activity! Our customer service team is here to help make sure your experience with Old Town School as pleasant as possible for all our students. If you anticipate a need to move classes, drop out from your current class or have other issues attending please stop by the front desk of any campus building or contact us for additional support. Communication and Privacy
In the event of time-sensitive class schedule changes or cancelations, we may attempt to contact you by email, phone call, or SMS message. By providing a telephone number during registration you are consenting to be contacted by phone or SMS text message for customer service purposes. Message & data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt-out of further SMS messaging.
No personally identifiable information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Discounts for Seniors & Teens
Adults 65 and over are eligible for the Senior Discount of 15% off group classes. Teens (18 and under) get 25% off the price of selected adult group classes. Ask us when you register! Please register in person or by phone (773.728.6000) to receive these discounts. Please note: Teen discounts are not applicable for Summer Camp.
Photo Permissions
By registering for this class, I grant Old Town School of Folk Music permission to photograph or video my/my child's participation in Old Town School of Folk Music education programs. I also grant Old Town School of Folk Music permission to use my/child's likeness in a promotional capacity including but not limited to print materials, web site, print, online or out of home media and other medium now or later developed; as well as permission to share photography and video including my/my child's likeness for use by media publications and institutions that fund Old Town School of Folk Music operations and programs.
Student Practice Room Usage Policy
Old Town School offers a limited number of practice rooms for use by currently enrolled students. It is first come, first served based on availability between the hours of 10:00AM and 8:00PM while the buildings are open for classes. Practice rooms need to be reserved in person at the time of use. They can be reserved for up to one hour with a maximum of two currently registered students per room. Students must leave a current photo ID with the site manager or customer service representative while using a practice room. Old Town School employees are not available to provide room set up or additional equipment. Equipment is not to be disassembled or rearranged. Drummers must use the snare drums and cymbals provided. We ask that rooms be left in as good a condition and set up in the same manner as they were found. Please note: No dance rooms are available for student practice. No rooms are available during the first week of each eight-week session. Rooms are not available during School breaks and vacations. Not all rooms are available as practice rooms. Teaching non-Old Town School students in the Old Town School is strictly prohibited.
