Songwriting is a rewarding form of expression. These classes help bring this artistic expression to fruition. Expect weekly writing assignments that focus on specific elements of songwriting: form, chords, melody, rhythm and / or lyrics. Students play what they’ve worked on each week and we talk about the process and what parts of the song are most effective. A friendly, casual and inspiring atmosphere with generally excellent writing and input from a very talented and growing community of songwriters. A great way to generate new material for writers at any level. The deadlines really help!
This course is either taught by Steve Dawson of Dolly Varden fame author of “Take It To The Bridge” or Charles Kim leader of the band, “The Astronomer.”
Prerequisite: Songwriting: Fundamentals or participants have written at least three songs.
