Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin
Paul has been teaching for 35 years and although Blues guitar has become his specialty, Paul enjoys teaching guitar, mandolin and 5 string banjo from beginner to advanced students. Regardless of level or style, Paul emphasizes fundamentals and learning proper technique and reading standard notation if students are interested.
Paul’s teaching philosophy is simple, approach every student individually, meet them where they are and support students with the tools to learn and practice effectively.
Paul can support students in all levels of guitar and mandolin in most styles, however Paul specializes in all styles of blues guitar: acoustic fingerstyle, delta and ragtime blues to electric blues, including traditional Chicago blues as well as the modern blues-rock and soul/r&b styles. He can take on blues mandolin, as well.
On 5 string banjo, Paul can focus on Old-Time/Clawhammer styles.
