Coalescing Afro-Latin rhythms, modern harmonies, and varying musical influences across this cohort, Temática brings out a new sound with a classic feel. As a call to the building blocks of dance halls from the early 20th century whilst nurturing its own contemporary sound, this project has seen iterations that have a genesis as an organ-led Timba quartet to a full 10-piece powerhouse dance band.
As Temática matures and evolves, so have its players that unite from eclectic genres that have built their manifest to a stand-alone band that is unique to the Midwest and without peers in style and approach.
This unit boasts something for anyone seeking unrelenting grooves and musical sophistication with some flare just for fun. A sound created by Chicago musicians for Chicago audiences- there is no outsourcing here. All music is composed, written, and arranged by pianist/bandleader Joaquin Garcia Chaía and performed by the incredible local artists within the Midwest circuit.
If you want to dance, listen, sing, or cry: Temática is coming, give it a try.
