Clawhammer Banjo Workshop Series with Michael J. Miles: 1952 Vincent Black Lightning by Richard Thompson

WXRT said that this was the best song ever written and I had some guitar students who wanted to learn it. Richard Thompson uses an exotic guitar tuning where among other things he plays unison notes on different strings, which sounded to me like he was trying to make his guitar sound like a banjo. So with Jackie Allen singing harmony, we did just that, and I'll show you my version.

These workshops include detailed instruction, professional tablature, and audio. These workshops are for intermediate players who can read tablature and have experience with clawhammer technique. Special attention will be paid to developing the right-hand groove for each song. A few days after you enroll, you'll receive the tablature so you can start on the song before the workshop.
