This workshop will focus on the three different Jigs played in Irish Music - the Jig, the Slide Jig and the Slip Jig. It will focus on 12/8, 6/8 and 9/8 time signatures! You will learn the proper rhythm pattern to play for each dance form and associated tunes. Armed with these "secrets" you will feel much more comfortable at your next Irish Session. Guitar tuning used in the workshop will be Standard and Drop D.
Jim McVeigh is from Belfast, Northern Ireland and has played extensively throughout Ireland and the British Isles. His background is in Irish traditional music playing Guitar and Bodhran with occasional outbursts of singing. Since coming to the United States in 1993 he has played in the Irish music scene throughout the Midwest and beyond.
