Folk Songs, Carrying History Forward is intermediate level class that is open to all beginners that can comfortably change chords on their respective instruments.
We'll learn songs, and learn about artists like Hazel Dickens, Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt, Jean Ritchie, and others who have been influenced by, and have impacted old time country, folk, blues, and bluegrass.
Students will work on creating their own arrangements in class, and be introduced to how to learn songs by ear. Each sessions ends with a final class performance that is joined by other classes offered at the same time.
