Celebrating Fifty Years50th Anniversary Concert
The Really Big Show.December 1st, 2007 was our 50th Anniversary, and we celebrated with a HUGE gala concert at the historic Auditorium Theatre. Performers included Jeff Tweedy, Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, David Bromberg, Roger McGuinn, Lonnie Brooks with Wayne Baker Brooks and Nick Tremulis, Frank Hamilton, The Bloodshot Family Band (featuring The Robbie Fulks Band with Jon Langford, Kelly Hogan, Sally Timms & Nora O'Connor), Luna Negra Dance Theater, Bonnie Koloc, Corky Siegel, Sones de México Ensemble, and The Old Town School Players. This evening celebrated a great legacy and supported the Old Town School's continuing commitment to arts education within its own classrooms and throughout Chicago. Proceeds will support: scholarships for students who could not otherwise afford lessons; intimate classes with a faculty of renowned teachers; performances by local and touring artists representing cultural traditions from around the world; and youth outreach initiatives that reach thousands of children.
