Hot Times at Old TownAppearing below are selections from the hard copy Hot Times. The objective is to highlight activities at the School and in the larger community, especially those featuring or of special interest to teachers and staff. Your suggestions are welcome. Join the fun! That includes a song circle, open string jam, songwriters’ exchange, back porch blues jam, student ensemble performances, and NEW features: a Fandango jam, a drum circle, a creativity jam, an open ensemble jam, a community sing, and a free class demonstration (different every month). Also — we hope every month — a craft lounge of knit, crochet, and other portable crafts. AND concert archive previews in the Resource Center! All are covered by $4 at the door. Watch this space for updated info on what comes next! If you missed the May gathering, give youself a good kick in the behind. Third Wheel, the featured performers, put on a fine show of close harmony singing. Their opening act, Jon Spiegel and John Abbey, did breathtaking guitar and bass solos on a range of quirky, funny songs. As is true most months, the May First Friday featured two acts that you won’t find that often in clubs — another reason for putting First Fridays on your calendar.
