Earworms can infect anyone, but old-time musicians probably have a corner on them. An earworm is a shred of a tune that goes around and around in your head for hours or even days. If you are not personally a sufferer, you probably know someone who is so afflicted. Earworms are usually comprised of perhaps 15-20 seconds of a tune. Unfortunately, the least complex tunes are often the ones that stay the longest. While there is no permanent cure, the best way to rid yourself of this pesky critter is to make music yourself.
