It’s the melody of an old song recorded by the Pickard Family back in the late 1920s (near the time they were on the radio in Chicago): Bye-Bye My Honey, I’m Gone. Today we reviewed Arkansas Traveler, you can listen to it on the Tune Archive, Paul put a nice version of Lee Stoneking playing it. We also worked on Cripple Creek, listen to Tommy Jarrell and Kyle Creed playing it for a source recording and you can listen to Danny Miller’s slow version to hear how we’re doing it in class. We tried Cripple Creek in Standard Tuning (G, D, A, E) and then we also tried it in Cross A or Sawmill Tuning (A, E, A, E) Next week we’ll try it in G Have a nice time playing this week!
