Fiddle 2Rep (Thu) – week 5

My version of a classic tune in A. Be prepared to end the A part like the B part when playing with others. But I like this way more better.

Fiddle 2Rep (Thu) – week 1

I learned this tune from Chirps Smith of the Volo Bogtrotters. He learned it from Garry Harrison of Charleston, Illinois, who learned it from Pauline McGinnis is a nursing home in Vienna, Illinois in 1977. She learned it from her grandfather. I was told she whistled it to him. Another report is that she played it on the piano. The truth is out there.

medium tempo

Then we did a 3-part tune in A, Coming Through the Rye, in which the A part sounds like Cripple Creek (and the C part sounds like Bull at the Wagon).
