This performance features Doc Watson on guitar. The record company A&R man mistakenly wrote down the name of the tune as “Texas Gales.” (Say ‘gals’ with southern drawl.)

The original recording of the tune was by The Hillbillies, aka Al Hopkins & his Buckle Busters, circa 1925. They spelled it . . .
