Fiddle 2 (Mon) Week 1- Part 2

Hi!

So… we worked on Golden Slippers yesterday and reviewed Oh Susanna. I’ll post up Golden Slippers later today.

We also worked on using our tuning forks to tune, we’ll do that again next week, too.

The workshop we had with Meghan Lynch was awesome on Sunday, she talked about how knowing the key of a tune and the chords under what you’re playing is really important: so along those lines…we’re playing Golden Slippers in the key of G….we worked on playing the chords (G, D, C)

Here are the words the chords from the Old Town School Songbook….I’ve just included Verse 1 (there’s a lot of words to learn :)

Have fun this week!

GOLDEN SLIPPERS

Verse

Oh my (G) golden slippers are laid away
’cause I don’t ‘spect to weart hem till my (D7)wedding day
and my long tailed coat that I loved so well,
I will wear up in the chariot in the (G)morn’

I will hitch him to the chariot in the (G)morn
