A talented and accomplished musician, Akello hails from the Acholi tribe of Northern Uganda, an area that went through years of war and where many lives were lost, several families forced into refugee camps and her family forced to flee.
She debuted her singing career to tell the story of the Acholiwomen, who braved a 25-year long civil war tasked with the responsibility despite the fact that the world seemed to be crumbling around them.
As a voice of hope, she penned songs of love and thanksgiving, and looked to spread the spirit of togetherness, hope and utter happiness and she brings this message to North America in 2017/18.
