How do I register my child for summer camp?
There are three types of camper applicants. Find your type below and follow the directions!
Type 1: New Camper Applicants
The deadline for 2010 summer camp lottery applications has now passed. Applications are no longer available for summer camp 2010.
New camper registration is by lottery only. There is not a fee to apply for the lottery. In order to have your child's name entered in the lottery, please download the camp registration form here anytime between December 1, 2009 and January 24, 2010. Then, fill it out completely and return it, along with a copy of the applicant's birth certificate, to:
Old Town School of Folk Music Summer Camp
Attention: Alicia Manson
4544 N. Lincoln Avenue
Chicago, IL 60625
New camper lottery applications are due by 5:00 pm on January 24, 2010. Late applications will not be considered. New camper lottery results will be announced February 1-5, 2010. Due to the large amount of applications that we receive, we must request: please, no inquiries pertaining to lottery results. We will contact you. We will contact you by telephone if your child DID receive placement in the program, and we will contact you via email if your child DID NOT receive placement in the program. Thank you!
Type 2: Returning Camper Applicants
Campers who were enrolled in the 2009 Old Town School Summer Camp (and their 6-10 year-old siblings) may register first. Re-enrollment forms will be emailed to all 2009 camp parents on December 7, 2009. If you were a 2009 Summer Camp parent, please watch for this information in your inbox. If you are a returning camper parent whose email address has changed from last year, please notify Alicia Manson, Summer Camp Program Director, by calling 773-751-3369 or emailing amanson@oldtownschool.org. If you are registering a sibling of your returning camper, you must include a copy of their birth certificate with the application. Returning camper registrations are due, with your deposit, by January 17, 2010 at 5:00 pm. Late registrations will not be considered.
Type 3: Financial Aid Camper Applicants
There are a limited amount of financial aid awards available for summer camp.
Applications for camp financial aid will be available only at the front desk of both Old Town School locations from December 1, 2009 through January 24, 2010. If you come to the School to pick one up, please make sure you receive the PINK financial aid form that is specifically for summer camp. All financial aid applications for camp are due to the front desk by 5:00 pm on January 24, 2010. Late applications will not be considered. Financial aid applicants need not fill out any other camp application form (i.e lottery form or returning camper forms).
IMPORTANT: If your financial aid camper applicant is a NEW camper, it is required that you provide a copy of your child's birth certificate with your financial aid application for summer camp. Financial aid awards will be announced February 1-5, 2010. Please, no inquiries. We will contact you to inform you of the results.
