Learning the fundamentals of jazz theory opens new avenues in your improvisational style. Learn to speak the language of jazz develop your ears and heighten your musicianship. Investigate the chord/scale relationship, turnarounds, voice leading, jazz charts, new scales, and chord substitution. We will analyze tunes in the style of standards, bebop, latin-jazz, blues, modal, and contemporary fusion.
