Students who are considering navigating the world of stagecraft have a class all their own! This class is designed for aspiring instrumentalists and vocalists to hone their craft as performing artists. Students will go through song choice, microphone techniques, and even audience banter with inspiring zeal. Students will perform songs in a fully outfitted classroom where they can begin working on performance skills and develop a working understanding of stage gear with constant feedback from an experienced professional. With a firm foundation built from the class, students can take their act on the road with confidence at one of Chicago’s music and open mic venues. Students will need four complete songs (covers or originals) they can sing and play by heart. This class addresses performance skills NOT guitar skills.
